Summer House

The inspiration for the interior of Summerhouse was to reflect an interior reminiscent of the great estates of the North Eastern United States coastline- mainly Kennebunkport and Nantucket. In our development of the interior, we have accommodated this vision and style through many elements. In the interior, you’ll find classic moulding details, aged hardwood floors and rich architectural detail, such as transoms, pocket doors, built-in bookshelves, shutters, bead board wainscot, and a dynamic central fireplace. Antique brass and oil rubbed bronze hardware give the Manor House an established and aged feeling, reinforced by a mix of furnishings, eclectic artwork, and oriental rugs. The cabinetry throughout the interior adds layers to the story. From simple painted styles in the Library and the Café to a more formal, English inspired bar in the Activities Lounge, we see history unfold. The soapstone countertops in the Café echo this same message. The interior is further complemented by a mix of pleasing colors inspired by the natural surroundings: royal blue, sky blue, navy, khaki, chocolate brown, map green and creamy neutrals. The color palette is emphasized through every finish and furniture piece. The Catering Kitchen is functional, but keeps within the color palette and flavor of the interior. The Restrooms are fresh and incorporate large scale paisley wallcoverings, classic aged nickel light fixtures, white subway tile and easy to maintain Corian countertops. Contrast and unique identities were designed for each of the Restrooms. The Men’s is darker in chocolate brown and sky blue, while the Women’s is lighter in sky blue and grays. Traversing the rear hallway, you enter the overscale porch which is intended to maintain the aged, coastal interior and includes furnishings in classic white wicker with cushions in royal blue, sky blue, and khaki.

Through this combination of rich interior detail, classic finishes, pleasing colors and coastal furnishings the interior provides a classic, fresh space reminiscent of Northern grand estates for the community of Summerhouse to relax and enjoy for years to come.
