The remodeling design for this project was to convert a former two car garage into a new family kitchen and family dining area. The client desired a large family oriented kitchen which would include a central work island which would act as a focal point for the kitchen and a additional area for the family to eat and gather while in the kitchen.
Custom-made maple cabinets designed in a traditional raised panel style were constructed for the kitchen. The island, designed to accent the kitchen, was finished in a custom green glaze finish with a thick dark walnut butcher block top. Additionally design elements included a green and charcoal fleck granite countertop and backsplash, wrought iron lighting fixtures and an eat-in banquet for the family to gather for breakfast and dinners
Tim & Marlene were awarded the 2006 ASID Design Specialty Awards for the design work on this project.
