An accomplished interior designer for over 24 years, Tim Schelfe, ASID, is owner and principal of Schelfe and Associates, Inc., an award-winning interior design firm located in Raleigh, NC. His diverse interior design experience includes various commercial and residential projects. His commercial work encompasses club and amenity centers, restaurants, automobile showrooms and corporate offices, while his residential work includes custom and model homes, from new construction to remodeling design.

Tim began his interior design career in Washington, DC and its surrounding metro area before settling into Raleigh in 1992. He started his own firm backed up by his exceptional background in working in both large and small architectural firms, interior design firms and custom home builders.

Tim opened his first design firm in 1998. Over the past five years, he has led the vision and goals for Schelfe and Associates and the firm has flourished into one of the Triangle’s most respected and diverse interior design firms. Tim has been awarded a total of 17 Design Specialty Awards for his residential, commercial and hospitality work. Tim is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and especially active with the ASID Carolinas Chapter. He has served on numerous board and committee positions with the Carolinas Chapter—most recently as ASID Carolinas President for 2007-2008. Tim also serves on the editorial board for Interior and Sources Magazine, a nationally distributed professional trade magazine focusing on the ever-developing practice of interior design.

Tim is also an active member of the Best Practices Network— an elite group of 100 interior design firms located throughout the country who gather twice a year to exchange ideas, technology and best business practices. Tim has been a breakout leader and facilitator, invited to present a variety of topics at BPN meetings and conferences.

Through his love and practice of interior design and his 11 years of managing and directing an interior design practice, Tim is now available for consulting with interior design business owners, managers and designers in their practice.
